In 1777, on the first anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, exuberant American colonists marked the day with canons and fireworks.[1] The tradition stuck, and Congress eventually declared the Fourth of July a national holiday in 1870. Each summer since then, Americans have celebrated our freedom and strength as an independent country. Everyone from craftsmen, farmers, bankers and business leaders have built upon America’s legacy since the first July 4th by creating renowned American-made goods and services.
